The Women's Missionary Society (WMS) of the African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church is the official missionary organization for women within the denomination. Its mission is to strengthen faith and continue the ministry of Jesus Christ through evangelism, Christian education, leadership development, and compassionate service. Through local and global outreach, WMS members minister to the spiritual, physical, and social needs of individuals and communities while supporting the mission of the AME Church around the world.

The roots of the Women's Missionary Society date back to 1874 with the organization of the Women's Parent Mite Missionary Society, led by its first president, Mrs. Mary Campbell. In 1893, the Women's Home and Foreign Missionary Society was organized to expand missionary efforts. These two organizations united in 1944 to form the present-day Women's Missionary Society of the African Methodist Episcopal Church, creating one connectional body dedicated to mission and service throughout the denomination.

The official colors of the Women's Missionary Society are white and royal blue. White symbolizes purity, faith, and a life dedicated to Christ, while royal blue represents peace, healing, trust, wisdom, and the power of God. WMS members proudly wear these colors during missionary observances, worship services, conferences, and other special occasions as a visible expression of their commitment to Christian service, fellowship, and faithful discipleship.
